Position: Radiologic Technologist / Limited Scope X-Ray Tech

Role: To perform all diagnostic x-rays and assist the physician in the care and treatment of patients.

Reports to: Center Administrator / Physician on Duty

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet patient, ensure that the patient has removed all jewelry and metal objects, is wearing the appropriate medical gown and is not pregnant
  • Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation
  • Perform all diagnostic x-rays including patient communication, preparation, and positioning
  • Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment
  • Apply radiation protective measures and appropriate care for the patient during the examination
  • Prepare images for reading by physician as well as contact any additional physicians if a second opinion is needed
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, arranging for repairs as needed
  • Perform triage of newly registered patients, direct patients flow and ensure exam rooms are set up based on patient initial complaint
  • Aid physician with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures and protocol as necessary
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation and ensure each room is cleaned after each patient encounter
  • Perform POC (Point of Care) diagnostic tests and assist with other laboratory testing and analysis
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education / Certificates: Limited Scope X-ray (LSRT) certificate - or- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certificate
  • One year experience post-graduation working as a licensed X-Ray Technologist preferred
  • Basic medical assisting experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of digital x-ray services
  • Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA and OSHA
  • Team player, excellent verbal and communication skills, adaptable in different situations, possesses excellent patient interaction skills, able to multi-task and work independently
